Andrew O’Brien and his 21 year old son Laughlin arrived in Auckland July 1843 on the Thomas Lord from Sydney. November 14th 1843 saw the arrival of Charles de Witte, his wife Adele, 12 year old daughter Helene and their man servant Pierre de Norre on board Mandarin. The Mandarin also carried 31 boys from Parkhurst Prison. Andrew’s Death
